Selecting the right software for your computer

We have partnered with Linux Mint because it is the easiest to learn and use distribution of Linux that we have found. It was originally a spin-off from Ubuntu, the widest recognized Linux distribution, and has been enhanced to be easier to use. The support community for Linux Mint is dedicated to making transition from Windows a carefree experience. Linux Mint is free, and their only financial income is from donations and sponsors; that's why Stitz Computers LLC will make a donation for every computer or live CD sold.

For those who need Microsoft Windows™, we also offer a dual-boot solution. With dual-boot, you can have two operating systems (Linux and Windows) on the same computer, and select which one you want to use when you turn it on. You can also access your Windows files from within Linux for added convenience. If you would like a dual-boot setup, simply select the computer system and Linux distribution that you want, add it to your shopping cart, then select and add your choice of Windows version. Be sure to place the computer system and Windows software on the same order.

Linux Mint 7 "Gloria", is the lates Mint version. It uses the popular Gnome
desktop environment with a custom menu system that takes your Linux experience
to a new level. Mint is community driven, and support is offered at
http://forums.linuxmint.com.
If you want Windows Vista (TM) installed along-side Linux (dual-boot system),
you can order it from our Products page as a separate product. It is only available
with a the purchase of a computer system, and will be installed as a second OS by us
If you want Windows to boot by default, please specify "Windows first" in the special
order instructions when you add the computer system to your shopping cart.
